OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

(1/1)

PiJo:
             OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

The world is full of optical illusions and things aren’t always the way they appear.
Although our mind is constantly trying to make sense of the world around us it can sometimes get a little out of control and make us start to see things … literally.

All pictures are still JPG or GIF. Only the first optical illusion is animated GIF.

Don't stare too long as you may feel dizzy.

Stare At The Middle For A Change In Color (pink dots will disappear)

If you stare at the dot in the center and move your head away from the screen the rings will start to rotate. Now gradually get closer again…they change direction!

Now, just slightly move your eyes when staring at each next picture

Spinning circles

Double rotation

Bulge effect

Rotate clockwise

Wavy ?

Ball moving upward

Expanding square

In fact, all these lines are perfectly horizontal

As above, all these lines are perfectly horizontal

Black or white dots ?

All are perfect circles

The horizontal bar is only ONE shade of grey

Both orange circles have the same size

Same picture but inverted (yes, I agree, both are ugly !)

Which silouhette is the tallest ? None.

Cat going up or down ?

2 people or 3 vases ?

Are you sure this fork is normal ? Look closely.

Sitting up or down ?

Total illusion

Which horizontal line is the longest ? None.

Duck or rabbit ?

Useless stairs

Stare at the image for about half a minute without moving your eyes and watch as it gradually disappears.

Spirals ? No, Circles !
While it appears that the overlapping arcs are spiraling into infinity they are in fact only a series of concentric circles.

The “blue” and “green” backgrounds are in fact the same color (open it in photoshop).

Stare at the center of the image for about 30 seconds and then look away at a preferably white surface (sometimes the ceiling works). What do you see? (the Christ)

Yes, the leaning tower of pisa does actually lean, but these two images are in fact one and the same. Although the image on the right appears to be leaning away from the one on the left this is only in your head.

Rotating cylinders

Fractal moving

Although the square labeled “A” appears to be darker than the square labeled “B”, they are actually exactly the same shade of gray. It’s okay if you don’t believe it, we didn’t either, but Photoshop proved us wrong.
